As the Fine Art Programme Leader and Module Leader for Public Project 1 at the University of Lincoln, I delight in leading this unique undergraduate module. With a background in fine art, arts psychotherapy, and psychosynthesis coaching, I bring a passion for developing meaning-making, innovation and social responsiveness through the arts.

Public Project 1 pairs nine of our second-year Fine Art students with service users at Double Impact to enhance addiction recovery through the arts. This module serves as a platform for students to develop transferable professional, personal, and employability skills. Through seminars, educational case studies, and clinical training, students engage in co-effective mentoring of service users, harnessing the transformative power of art in the recovery process.

This collaborative approach not only benefits service users but also shapes our students into socially responsive and publicly aware practitioners, aligning with the distinctive ethos of the Fine Art course at the University of Lincoln. The ongoing dialogue and vibrant contributions exchanged between students and clients during the 12-week period exemplifies the transformative potential of creativity.

I am proud to witness the evolution of artworks and the deep connections formed between students and clients, as reflected in the upcoming exhibition, "Groundings: Flower Moon – Growing Passion." The sessions have been rich with dialogue, expressions of the natural world, and a spirit of hope and humour. I eagerly anticipate the culmination of this journey and the celebration of all in the final exhibition.
