Mya & Sarah

Hello all, I am Mya! I am such a bubbly and optimistic person, despite this, in my practice I express the dark and unseen parts of our lives and the world that we live in. I express powerful emotions for people who have lost their voice. This ranges from the technology taking over, poaching our world's most beautiful animals and as a majority; the more personal aspects as individuals, to possibly have a traumatic impact on the way of life. When studying fine art at the University of Lincoln, I have had great fun experimenting with my ideas, expanding my imagination. I can’t say what my preferential choice of creating is, because I love and aspire to explore everything…this could range from video art, to painting or to photography. I just want to make a difference, and raise awareness, at the end of the day that is all that matters. I feel as though that in this project, we have done this and so much more. I am so lucky to have been a part of this life-changing experience, consequently for me, it has opened my mind to so many ideas for the future. I hope more opportunities like this arise, as I have discovered it to be profoundly educational, and quite frankly exiting.

The skills I have developed in this project will have incredible benefits for my future, and as I imagine is re-iterated for the clients. furthermore, I hope this opportunity progresses in the years to come.

Hello, I am Sarah, the Sarah with the blue hair. I am a mum of my beautiful children and my crazy dog; I have been a wife and now I’m experiencing being an artist. My life has been and will continue to be about recovery, it is in fact something I would like to explore as a career. I feel as though I lost my way in life and art has helped me dramatically with that. I am naturally creative- with aspects such as my fashion and hobbies. I am always one to have the most creative and colourful nails. During this project, it has given me an opportunity that I wouldn’t have had without the University of Lincoln. Truthfully it is something I wouldn’t have decided to do until I was given the chance. I am so glad I have participated in this project; I even look forward to the day. I see something on a page that I have achieved and am proud of. This makes me even more optimistic than I already am in life, and more creative. Art has become something I do on a regular basis now, and I am starting to paint presents for my family members. I have discovered so much during this experience, learning about mediums and techniques that I do and don’t like. it is apparent that I am drawn to watercolours, they have inspired me throughout this whole project, and I love the pieces I create using this medium, especially the neurotrophic art I have been doing each week. I just think art is ticking the boxes for me, and this project has helped me learn that about myself, and to that I am thankful to have been a part of this project.
