LEGACY
Groundings started in 2018, a project that has cultivated in an annual public exhibition displaying the work that the artists created during the project. Groundings: Flower Moon - Growing Passion marks the seventh iteration of this project. In previous years of the project and subsequent exhibitions have had to respond to the challenging situation of the pandemic. Despite this, hard work and resilience shown by the artists, some truly thought provoking and successful works and exhibitions have occurred. Some artists have taken part in successive projects and have shown real growth and commitment.
2022 - The Four Tables
2023 - Outta the Box
The name “Outta The Box” came from a collaborative session in which clients and students worked with shoeboxes as well as the idea of taking their art and expression out of a box – we aim to reflect on the artworks created by clients and how their works connect with their emotional, physical and creative journeys.
Groundings: The Four Tables' marked the fifth iteration of this project. Previous years of the project and exhibitions have had to respond to the challenging situation of the pandemic. Despite this, with the hard work and resilience shown by the artists, some truly thought provoking and successful works and exhibitions have occurred.
2021 - Connecting through the Disconnect
In 2021, 'Groundings: Connecting through the disconnect' took place for a second year, however, this time during the amidst of lockdown and uncertainty. Located in an empty unit at St. Mark's Retail Park, both facilitators and artists put together another successful and well received pubic exhibition.
2020 - Connecting Imaginations
2020, like for us all way a year where we had to adapt to the online world.
Groundings in 2020 was no different and both artists and facilitators worked hard through the first lockdown to share a virtual exhibition of their unconventional project.
2019 - Liberation through Growth
Located in an empty unit at St. Mark's Retail Park opposite the university campus, both facilitators and artists put together another successful and well received pubic exhibition. This time taking on the name "Liberation through growth".
2018 - The Blue Room
2018, the first Grounding project, titled to evoke an aura of solidarity and stability. Culminating in a public exhibition at the Blue Room in Lincoln, the artists produced work that was not only relatable but built a better understanding of potential and partnership.
