Imogen & Rob
Hi! I’m Imogen, one of the second-year Fine Art students working alongside Lincolnshire Recovery Partnership in the art project to help create 'Groundings: Flower Moon – Growing Passion'. I was so excited at the idea of this module and I’m happy to say it’s gone beyond my expectations. these sessions were the highlight of my week and I intend to apply this experience and the skills I’ve learnt to my future career prospects.
This experience has really opened my eyes and allowed me to expand my knowledge and further my experience. within my own artistic practice, I frequently use it as an outlet for my emotions and has been an amazing feeling being able to share this with other people and watch them flourish artistically as well.
I have thoroughly enjoyed working with the clients whilst also developing my own skills. this project has allowed me to meet new people and taught me the importance of reflection on oneself through the use of artistic methods.
This is my first time attending the art project and is something I really look forward to each week. I found the sessions very therapeutic and enjoyable as I like to make my imagination come to life. It has shown me how to become more confident in myself and take control of my thoughts and feelings through the use of art.
The purpose of this project allowed me to connect with my grandchildren who also make art and are creative in themselves. Providing me with new insights and skills into life and helping me make connections with other people. Something I wanted to gain from this project was to develop my art skills and progress artistically so I can continue to use art as a positive outlet in my free time and share important moments with those close to me, like my grandchildren.
As my practice has developed, my work is often themed around wildlife, landscapes and nature fuelled by my love for it. Throughout the project, I have experimented with many materials, including, oil pastels, watercolours, and pencils. my piece for ‘Flower Moon: Growing passion’ has replicated my passion for wildlife.
