At Double Impact (Lincolnshire Recovery Partnership)we work with individuals who have previously struggled or continue to struggle with substance misuse issues. Our aim is to support their ongoing recovery journey, to empower them to reach their ambitions and goals and continue their development towards more enriched lives.
We do this through supporting people to reconnect with their values and engage with others in recovery. This takes place in the form of around 30 peer support and educational groups each week. We also support recovery through educational courses where service users can gain the skills to work towards qualifications of their own.
As a Lived Experience Recovery Organisation we facilitate people into volunteer positions and paid roles in the community, to further empower them in their recovery journey.
At Double Impact we have a holistic approach to recovery, encouraging service users to connect with a variety of ways to support their wellbeing. Through this project our service users can express themselves in a different manner, develop self-awareness, grow in confidence and of course have fun! It also offers the opportunity to connect with members of the wider community, gaining new ideas and perspectives to support their development.
This year our services users and Lincoln University have worked together to produce a variety of approaches to the theme ‘Flower Moon; Growing Passion.’ It has been wonderful to see the creative connections that have formed over the 12 weeks. The university students helped to foster a supportive and engaging environment, where our service users shared, they felt comfortable, inspired and able to explore ideas, even if they have never picked up a paint brush before.
We are now in year 7 of our collaborative project with Lincoln University and can’t wait to see how things grow over the forthcoming years.
